Corporate Background The Concession Contract with the National Roads Authority was signed on Thursday 14 th June 2007 The scheme comprises of approximately 41km of new motorway, approximately 3km of single carriageway link roads, approximately 15 km of side roads, 3 grade separated junctions and a Motorway to Motorway Interchange. The project entails the design and construction of 48 new structures. The proposed M7 commences west of the R435, south of Borris in Ossory, and progresses eastwards to south of Aghaboe, and then northeastwards to the termination of the M7 Portlaoise By-pass at Portlaoise. The M8commences south of Cullahill and runs north-eastwards to join the proposed M7 at a motorway/motorway interchange at Ballycuddahy. A number of grade separated junctions are provided along the length of the motorway, at the R435 south of Borris in Ossory; the R445 at Portlaoise; the R433 at Granstown (Rathdowney). The motorway to motorway interchange will be located east of Aghaboe and the toll plaza will be located in the townland of Fatharnagh, close to the river Cappanacloghy, north of the motorway interchange. MidLink M7/M8 Limited will carry out the operation and maintenance obligations on the project road for Celtic Roads Group during the thirty year term of the concession.
